Vintage Fairground Shooting Target
For sale in this LOT is a highly collectable and decorative folk art metal primitive looking original English fairground targets circa 1960. Painted red and cast in heavy duty metal sheets these items would have been bespoke made for an amusement shooting game at a travelling fairground. The Items hold wonderful character as you can see from the photos provided. Items of this nature would normally have come in sets of 8 or even 12. Inside the metal shooting boxes you will find a metal retrieve section that allowed the showman to raise all the metal target in one pull. This item still functions perfectly.
Condition: The overall condition of this item is good, considering their age and previous use. The wear and tear add much character as you can see in the photos provided. The paint is chipped, faded and cracked in places. The item has obviously been shot at a vast amount of times and as shown in the photos provided the metal has many marks of metals pellet shot marks. This item does not have any breaks or cracks to deter the structure standing alone. The rust is also visible on the white aim shots, however this just adds character to the folk art look of this wonderful collection.
Summary: Overall a very cool and colourful primitive folk art fairground English artefact, can be displayed together of separate by the buyer. A great collection item.
