Pair of 19th Century bronze and brass stamped Indian temple oil burning lamps
Item Detail: We are proud to offer a pair of 19th Century handmade bronze and brass Indian temple oil burning lamps. Both items are stamped and state the origin and maker at the base of the lamps. Each lamp is hand made with some wonderful detail across the bronze and brass sections. The larger of the 2 lamps comes apart into 3 sections and can be adapted into a smaller table lamp. The smaller of the 2 is made from solid bronze and shows a wonderful aged patination across the surface (we feel this is a piece from Tamil Nadu due to the engraved script at the base). The large lamp is engraved with Hindi script and likely a piece from Gujrat (India). Still very functional in form we however feel these two lamps are more decorative currently. This pair would make a wonderful display and add a touch of true Indian heritage into any interior space. Recently uncovered from an interior designers’ personal collection in London, and untouched in form.
