Early 20th Century Rare Folk-art Whip Hooks
The House of Antiques is proud to offer for sale a wonderful handmade folk-art English whip hooks. This item is dated 1910 if not earlier, the item is completely unique in look and style. The standard antique Black Forest whip hooks are normally make from carved wood with equally measured and symmetrical deer horns. This item however displays a plaster and wood bull dogs head at the top which is hand painted and original glass eyes, uneven and decorative deer horns attached to hand carved wooden bases, brass studs and finishing touches as detailed in the photos provided. The item is mounted on a hand carved wooden backboard and painted with detail. This is a very unique and one off item which is why it’s in our store, quite simply you won’t find another one like it.
Condition: The items are completely structurally secure and has no moving sections, due to its age and use this item shows signs of light wear and tear. It has a great overall patina and look to it never the less. Shipping: At The House of Antiques we aim to ship your purchased item in 2 to 3 working days. The item is packed well and shipped via Parcelforce or Royalmail from London at the buyers cost. We do our upmost to pack items very carefully and dispatch them as we would expect to receive them ourselves. Please take into consideration when buying fragile items that The House of Antiques are not responsible for any breaks or damaged caused whilst the item is in transit. If damage does take place whilst the item is in transit we will aim to seek compensation from the courier on your behalf and keep the buyer updated with progress made to reimburse the buyer with damage costs. The House of Antiques will not refund the costs of damaged and postage until the courier has resolved the damages claim we have proposed on the buyer behalf. Additional to this we use a few carefully selected couriers in the UK to deliver our most fragile or larger item. Cancellation: We are unable to refund any item which is purchased unless the item is different from what is described in the advert stated. We do no refund our customers if they choose to change their mind about the purchase unfortunately, we will however offer a full refund of the item (excluding postage) if the item once received is not as described, this however can only take place within 48hr of the item being received by the customer. Once an item has been received and if a cancellation has been agreed by The House of Antiques management team, the customer is liable for the cost and insurance of postage if the item needs to be sent back to us in London.
